At his death they passed into the hands of a friend of the family, Ugo Ottolenghi, who in turn passed them down to his son, Athos. Athos and Anna Ottolenghi donated the collection to Sibley Music Library in 1997.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Scope and Content<\/h4>\n<p>The collection constitutes an excellent group of photographs of both major and minor opera singers and conductors from the tum-of-the century. The ephemera also include interesting memorabilia relating to opera of the time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Associations<\/h4>\n<p>Watanabe Special Collections maintains an Iconography collection that includes many similar photographs, some inscribed to various individuals, of major and minor performers of the same time period.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Restrictions and Use<\/h4>\n<p>There are no restrictions on the use of this collection.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a id=\"Series\" name=\"Series\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>DESCRIPTION OF SERIES<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"#S1\"><strong>Series 1: Photographs<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>69 photographs of eminent opera singer of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, most inscribed.
