The Office for Student Activities at Eastman manages all of the student organizations on the Eastman campus. All of the organizations listed below are governed by the Students\u2019 Association and adhere to the protocols within its constitution. All students are encouraged to join an organization that interests them.<\/span><\/header>\n

For students who cannot find an organization of interest, we encourage them to explore starting a new organization. See below in Resources for Student Organizations\u00a0for more information about starting student organizations.<\/p>\n

Student organizations at Eastman are open to all students.\u00a0 While certain organizations center around the experiences and perspectives of specific identities, we welcome and encourage participation from individuals of all backgrounds, including those who may not identify as members of a particular group. Your presence, support, and engagement contribute to a richer dialogue and a more inclusive community. By joining any student organization, you demonstrate a commitment to learning and mutual respect, all of which make the University stronger and ever better.[\/vc_column_text][vc_accordion active_tab=”false” collapsible=”yes” title_size=”h3″ style=”3″][vc_accordion_tab title=”Black Students’ Union”][vc_column_text]We, the students of the Black Students Union at Eastman (BSUE)<\/strong> at the Eastman School of Music, with the intent to promote social and cultural awareness, to foster diversification, and develop community relations within the School do hereby express the purpose of this organization:<\/p>\n

  1. To provide a vehicle and forum for the articulation and expression of views and interests of the black students at the Eastman School of Music<\/li>\n
  2. To provide educational, cultural, and social programs relevant to the needs of black students at Eastman<\/li>\n
  3. To enhance relations amongst the organization, and Eastman\u2019s student body<\/li>\n
  4. To establish channels of communication between the organization and that of the City of Rochester<\/li>\n
  5. To foster the recognition of the educational and cultural needs of black students at Eastman<\/li>\n
  6. To promote black cultural awareness in all areas, and to establish a platform which provides as such.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
